Beowulf Nocturne was the son of a businessman and a doctor, with a twin sister. However, at the young age of 12, his sister grew sick with cancer and passed away a few meager years later. This left him an only child for most of his teenage life. It wasn’t a hard life by any means after that. It was almost like fate was trying to make up for it. He went onto college and graduated with honors in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in programming. For a time he took advantage of helping artists build websites until he managed a job with Encom as a programmer by 1997. The unsurprising pass and fall of Y2K didn’t affect him any and even the crash of 2001 didn’t affect him as much as it could’ve.
However, by 2010, he realized he had been with Encom for over 10 years with little to no progress. He was sure he had talent, and could come up with quite useful tools. He even studied various computer viruses and ways in which to remove them. However, his greatest creation was yet to come.
Upon the news of Sam’s release of the Grid to the public via the arcade, Beowulf heard about the failures and dangers of events within the previous Grid and offered his services to create a program designed to help deter most dangers for the new system Sam Flynn was working on. Anything more about the program will be found in SEER’s profile.
As a person, Beowulf is a dark personality. He can appear friendly, however there is an unsettling feeling about him as well as much of the time he’s best known as cold. While he may seem helpful to some, others have taken note of his desire to go up the ranks of Encom. He may even desire a seat in the highest council of the computer tech company. It also seems that the loss of his twin had deeply pierced his heart as he still doesn’t care to speak of her to anyone. The only indication that he even has family is a solitary family photo on his desk. Even as a 32 year old, he remains unmarried and without children. He also seems to have an interest in the end of times, and psychic abilities. These subjects appear to have been an inspiration to his work in the past and continually reappear.
He has paid a few visits to the Grid in the past, but he isn’t a well-known programmer.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Exert from one of my stories.
It had been only days since the graduation from the academy. Rokai was instructed to report to the office of a man known as Apollo Abendroth. Embarrassingly, the young man had managed to miss the exact ranking of the superior officer. Well, the good thing about being at the bottom of the ladder was that you saluted to everyone pretty much. As he got to the door to Abendroth’s office, Rokai knocked on the door. Hearing a casual “come in,” the new officer opened the door and walked inside. Upon seeing the blonde-haired man, Rokai immediately saluted.
“At ease,” Apollo said with a light smile, giving a fairly lax salute in return. “So you’re Lieutenant Rokai, I’m assuming. I’ve heard a good deal about you.” The man wasn’t as old as Rokai thought one of the higher ups would be, nor was he as serious. “Ah, and you also have permission to speak freely. I want your honest input on certain things.”
Rokai blinked, his chocolate eyes giving away the curiosity in his mind. “What sort of things, Sir?” he found himself asking. What could the military possibly want with him?
“You’ve been picked to lead a unit of 5 people, due to your abilities during training runs. Once you’ve had time to meet and get acquainted, you will be given your first set of orders. Most likely it will deal with helping rebuild and possibly gathering a few sleepers,” was the answer, given while the blonde waved his hand. The body language was showing perhaps a bit of boredom. It may have just been the newer officer’s opinion, but Apollo’s teal eyes seemed to show that he knew more than he’d ever let on.
Rokai had little thought devoted to that though, as he looked on in shock. “I’m leading a unit, Sir? And when am I going to meet them?” Shock had quickly turned into excitement. He hoped that he would be able to get along with them. He also hoped they could work together. Mostly, he hoped he could actually lead them.
Apollo laughed before standing from his chair. “There is no better time than the present for these sort of things, Rokai. I believe the sooner you meet them and the more you get to know them, the better things will be for you.” The higher-ranked officer walked over, placed a hand on the brunette’s shoulder and started to lead him out eagerly. He was met with no resistance.
