Ellie Langley was getting familiar with Flynn's Arcade, but one thing that bugged her was that she'd never seen Sam there. Of course, they had a past, one not so full of sunshine and rainbows, but still. She had to wonder if part of her interest in The Grid was because Sam brought it out to the world. She knew that falling into the fad that everyone seemed to be jumping into would lead her to him eventually, and maybe they could...oh, who was she kidding..she'd give him a piece of her mind, that's what she was planning on doing.
The semester and a half she spent with Sam at Cal Tech was amazing. He was a good friend to her, possibly one of the only ones that didn't tease her relentlessly about her beliefs. She appreciated that, and as the weeks went on, Ellie swore she felt something developing between them. What it was, she couldn't decipher, but it was nice, and she was willing to let it happen...
Then Sam up and dropped out.
He disappeared, went off to do his own thing, completely forgot about her. At least, that's how Ellie felt it happened. The memory of it made her stomach churn, and she bit her lip uncomfortably as she hung back near some of the less popular games in the arcade. She'd had plans to go back into the Grid that night to take some more notes, do some more sketches...but she always waited to see if Sam would pop up. She'd know him anywhere, she just wanted to see him one more time.
Just...one more time. She had things to get off her chest.
