Valon was a program created by a programmer within Encom, however it is unclear who exactly it was. In any case, his job is one of the various guards of the Grid's "virus vault." What is that exactly? When a virus or bug can't be derezzed, but captured by security monitors, it's quarantined and taken to rot in the vault. It's a fairly boring and unglamourous job but some has to do it, right? Even though it's not often a virus manages to escape the confines of the virus vault, Valon tends to use his time at work to practice with his disk and get better. When he's not daydreaming about other jobs that is. Not to say that he hates his job, he just wonders about what else there is to enjoy in this programmed life. He adores users and doesn't think that there are bad ones yet. Perhaps, he sometimes wishes he had the job of a monitor, but he never seems to voice these things. He also has an idea to give a user to create an item for programs to use to better help defend programs, especially monitors.
Personality-wise, Valon would be considered as "geeky" in user terms. He has fairly good knowledge with technology (being a program) and even things he's not familiar with he tends to catch onto at a decently quick rate. He's also a sweetheart, and willing to go out of his way to assist others. A true gentleman, he greets others politely, and his outer personality tends to show he's a bit timid - which bellies both his current job/directives, and his determination. He can be fiercely loyal to those he calls friend, and would do nearly anything for them.
As far as the arena goes, he's best at the disk wars. If one were to ask him to battle with a light cycle he'd be far less inclined, but willing. Anything else and he'd flat out tell you no, in the nicest way possible. All around, he's a nice guy to have around.
