CUT TO:
EXT. HOTEL BALCONY, GRID - NIGHT
SOL:
Was I supposed to recall? Bits and pieces is all that eats away, down to my infrastructure.
Was I supposed to recall? Bits and pieces is all that eats away, down to my infrastructure.
Sol stands near the ledge of the building's deck. His right hand pressed against the fabric on his chest, fingers gently sliding over his circuitry. A dull greenish yellow illuminates under them. He turns his head, eyes glancing toward the feet of another program whom he is conversing with. His facial expression is now stolid, processing what to say next.
He quickly turns around to face her with a hand outstretched, open in a quizzical manner.
SOL:
You speak about all these things we did together, things I should remember. I know with permanence that my reintegration process destroyed many things, but I could never forget your face.

Sol's head tilts down as he is now saddened by what he just said, recollecting on bits of information he is now trying to process. He did remember Selene's face and her comfort, but that was all. He is now showing signs of being scornful towards himself.
SELENE:
You didn't choose to become reprogrammed into Clu's Army. The fact should remain that you're okay and that you're here now-
SOL:
Look at me! Look at this.

SOL:
Look at me! Look at this.
Sol's fingers trail down circuitry among his chest. It sparks lightly with a static charge.
SOL:
This. It used to be green. I used to be my user's program, and now I can't even remember who I was except for these flashes. Oh, Selene...

The two inch closer together as Sol takes Selene into an embrace. He closes his eyes and pulls her in tighter. Lowering his head, Sol nuzzles his nose against her neck, opening his mouth slightly. Selene's fingers become interlocked as she holds him around his waist.
SOL:
You feel so familiar. It feels right to hold you, but I just can't remeber...
SELENE:
Don't try.
SOL:
Okay.

INT. BACK ROOM, GRID - NIGHT
SOL:
Correct. There is no need for a User to comply to the natures of being that of a human here, aside from things like sleep deprivation.

Two entities sit in an enclosed room among a desk, each on opposite sides. He smiles as if to encourage the user to become at ease. User sits with hands between his legs, still looking confused.
SOL:
I understand it's hard to be the new one on the block. I was once too, but of course under different circumstances. Being here is like being anywhere else, aside from the fact one such as yourself doesn't need to eat. Drink. Or other menial things like that. But Users do get tired, so don't go out of your way to do anything strenuous. Ugh, we do have a Hotel here in our system provided free of charge. So please feel free to go there when you want.
USER (UNKNOWN):
But don't people get hungry or need to use the bathroom? I don't think I can even take this thing off if I needed to go.

Sol laughed playfully at the user, who now seemed more concerned about bodily functions than asking more standard questions that Sol was used to. Sol smiled, then leaned against the desk in front of him, locking his fingers together acting more personal toward the user as his programming allowed.
SOL:
Well, with the way humans are integrated into the System, no. If you feel hungry, it's only your mind telling you so, acting as if it would back in your real world. You can live freely here without eating or drinking for weeks on end. We do provide meals here at a local restaurant Sam Flynn created. It is imitation food, what we like to call 'brain food' here. Chewing and swallowing functions will tell it your getting full. No needing to 'use the bathroom' either, as what we provide for you is artificial in structure. You're body digests that in different ways here, but the need to sleep will occur as I have stated before. Just be aware that Programs don't need to.
USER (UNKNOWN):
That's a little creepy.
SOL:
So I've been told.
USER (UNKNOWN):
So, can I like, go now?
SOL:
Sure. This was just a one-on-one introductory to help you understand what you've gotten yourself into.

INT. ALLEYWAY, GRID - NIGHT
Sol stands frozen with his back against a building's wall. A body lies sprawled against the ground before him face down - it's circuitry flickers slightly, turning from a pale blue to yellow, then back again. Sol's hand quickly covers his mouth. He whisper's through his fingers -
SOL:
N-no. No, not again.
N-no. No, not again.
His eyes show signs of fear as he continues to stare down at the other program on the ground. The program gave off a small grunt and then powered down, seemingly going unconscious. Sol gulps and runs off deeper into the alleyway, praying he doesn't black out again near another random passerby.
