Elizabeth, known by her friends as Ellie, grew up in Salem, Massachusetts and moved to Los Angeles, California when she was eighteen to go to college. She attended California Tech before transferring to California State University and graduating with a major in Theater, Film and Television studies and a minor in Anthropology. Ever since she was little, Ellie had been interested in the occult, studying about multiple types of witchcraft, tarot, palmistry, different religions, superstitions, and possibilities of different dimensions. It was difficult for her to make friends this way, as her nose was often stuck in a book about something having to do with one of the topics that caught her interest.
Her fiery red hair matches her personality, as Ellie is a spitfire, quick to counter anyone’s smart remarks unless caught completely off guard or out of her element. She is always seen wearing a golden Ankh (ancient Egyptian symbol for ‘Everlasting Life’) necklace, believing it is a form of protection. She also almost always wears a pentagram, but keeps it hidden beneath whatever she is wearing, that symbol causes too much scrutiny for her liking. Though she is an occultist and would call herself such, she has severe arachnophobia, which is uncommon in occultists, since spiders sometimes are a form of power.
The world Sam Flynn opens to the public completely falls into the line of her study of different dimensions, and she is quick to explore it, and returns often, taking notes on what she sees and often hanging around to sketch things or speak with programs willing to talk to her about the history of the place. Only having a handful of people she can contact in the user world, it isn’t uncommon that Ellie will spend days in the digital world when there is nothing else for her to do.
Her source of income comes from her working as a bartender at a Los Angeles bar that can get rather busy on the weekends. She usually works Thursdays-Saturdays and the money her parents left her covers the rest of her expenses. She is not quick to trust anyone, and will often question someone’s true intentions with her a million times over before establishing any kind of solid relationship or friendship, but once one is established, Ellie is someone you can count on.
She often does Tarot readings for money and can sometimes be scary spot-on. She adores horror movies, no matter how cheesy, and will never pass up the chance to investigate somewhere that is supposedly haunted. Strange, unusual, weird; these words do not even begin to cover exactly what Ellie Langley is.
