Athena stood on the outskirts of the Outlands. She looked out, her head tilted as she tried to recall what had brought her to this place. "The Outlands," she said, letting the words roll off her tongue. "Dangerous," she recalled. Her hand went to the weapon at her side and she spun it around, letting the black blade turn a neon blue. The corner of her lip twitched. Was she to meet someone? Was that why she was here? Was she running? If so, from whom? Questions ran through Athena's mind. So many questions, so few relevant answers.
Athena could tell you the dimensions of the area of Outlands off in the distance, but ask her why she was there at that point in time and she would blink at you. Probably with a smile on her face. She could recite her program directives, give you her age, tell you how to change the color of your armor, and more, but whenever she needed to recall something useful... nothing. Tip of the tongue phenomena, to the extreme.
She frowned as she looked down at her outfit. Her shoes flickered from white to red, only momentarily. The corner of her mouth twitched again. "Ah," she said, then smiled. "Of course. I am here..." she frowned again. She'd lost it. Sometimes data ghosted into her memory, leaving a small trace that lasted only momentarily. She'd gotten used to it over the cycles, but she'd hoped that her condition would've gotten better, considering how many users were starting to emerge in the grid. Things were better now for everyone, and yet nothing really changed for Athena.
Turning as she heard a sound, Athena raised her sword, just in case. Whoever was out there, she'd make sure they knew she wasn't someone to bother without a good reason.

A red lightcycle came racing down the road, towards Athena and the edge of the Grid, the cycle itself was red and looked like an older model. The cycle glinted and reflected the lights surrounding the final road. The lightcycle and its driver leaned a bit to one side and barreled past Athena and out of the grid, where the cycle began to malfunction. First the wheels wobbled and the entire vehicle shook as the driver pulled hard to bring the cycle about, then the cycle began to derezz around him and soon the only thing left was the driver, who was hurled to the ground before skidding to a complete stop. The program had landed on his feet and soon stood to observe Athena for a moment.
The program had white armor and a helmet which covered his face with a tinted black visor. His helmet bore two long devices that almost looked like horns, positioned on both sides of his helmet, which made it completely symmetrical. After the mysterious program had looked over Athena for a moment, he spoke in a heavily computerized voice and held up his baton for the lightcycle he was riding just moments before, "Old and unreliable programming, but it does not matter. I will have a new one made. However, this is all completely irrelevant to your current situation, Ms. Athena." The program crushed the baton in his hand as he approached Athena, letting the broken shards fall from his grip and litter the ground beneath him.
"My name is SARK-ES-2000000. My user is Zero Zero. I am here for you." stated Sark as he stopped and pulled his white base, red rimmed Identity Disc from the usual slot on his back. "Master Control Program has chosen you... to serve him. Will you comply?" announced Sark. He tightened his grip on the Identity Disc, ready to act at any moment. What happened earlier with the lightcycle was a fluke, the result of a recycled lightcycle program from an early ENCOM system. Sark got into a basic disc war stance, sliding his left foot forward and aligning the heel to the arch of his right foot, he awaited her response.

Athena had lowered into a defensive stance as she watched the lightcycle hurdled towards her. She casually stepped aside, breaking form, as the driver made sure to avoid her. Standing up normally, her sword at her side, Athena quirked an eyebrow as she watched the cycle derezz and throw the driver into the Outlands. A smirk graced her visage for just a moment, before her normal, almost emotionless, look returned.
While the program was looking her over, Athena was reciprocating the action. She tried to recall any information she had on the program before her, and some things registered, but she didn't quite know with whom she was dealing with. She made note of his appearance, but the information, more than likely, would fade into the corrupted part of her mind. The color of his lights, and the detailing of his helmet bothered her, but she couldn't recall what such things meant, as per usual.
When the program spoke, specifically addressing Athena, her grip tightened on her sword. This program knew her, and that either meant she knew him and was meeting with him, or she didn't and he was after her. His intentions were made clear as he introduced himself, and when he said she'd been 'chosen' for the Master Control Program, something didn't sit well with her. His disc war stance didn't help the situation, and Athena figured that it would be better for her if she didn't comply.
Athena raised her sword and got back into her own stance as her glasses slid over her eyes (she didn't like a full helmet). Athena didn't fight with her disc anymore, as that was part of the reason her data was so corrupted. Besides, she was more skilled with the sword she held in front of her.
The corner of her mouth twitched into a partial smile. "I do not comply."

Sark jerked his head to one side at the sound of her response. Sark felt irritated at her cheekiness, he became determined to give her a fight that she would never forget, even with her whole data corruption condition. Sark slid out of his stance and stood tall, perfectly still and yet relaxed, with his disc at his side. The program spoke, "A pity... Shame that you have no choice in the matter."
Sark slowly raised his Identity Disc, aiming it at Athena, his entire arm stiffened as the disc was brought to level to her eyes. The red and white disc's rim flashed briefly before seeming to wobble slightly. Sark released the disc and carefully retracted his arm; the disc did not fall but instead remained floating in place. Sark began an announcement, in a voice like he would've used way back in the original ENCOM system while ordering around a couple of User-Believing programs on the Grid, "You were once known as one of the greatest fighters on the Game Grid. Today you will face off against an opponent of a much higher caliber. Of course before any good match begins, you must survive the first move."
Sark made a quick gesture towards Athena with his hand; the Disc suddenly launched itself toward her. Meanwhile, Sark would attempt to move behind the program while her complete focus was on the attacking disc. It was an attempt to exploit Athena's corruption flaw, her programming would surely decide to discard/file away all data on Sark as she struggled to fight off the disc. The disc did not move with a life of its own but instead Sark controlled it with simple thoughts. The disc would spin and twist through the air as he dived to attack her and it would rebound off her blocks and parries to circle around to try an attack from a different angle. The only problem with this strategy was the disc itself, which was of course brittle after the control modification was installed.
((OOC: To help speed things along, you'll have complete literary control over the disc (so will I) and its movements for the duration of the battle. Sark will be attempting to circle around Athena to grab and disarm her from behind if she becomes focused on defending against the disc. Good luck!))
