Upon landing at the airport, it was clear to anyone entering the city that Los Angeles was still as busy as ever. Nothing was quiet or peaceful, then again, neither was Washington D.C. Still, it lacked the majestic nature and importance of D.C. That was part of the reason Allison Bradley wasn't so keen on being back home. Of course, she couldn't dwell on the fact. D.C. had to be put on the backburner for the moment. Allie intended to make the best of being home and the best of being home was her dad. Alan was all she had left in the world, besides Sam, but she had practically alienated him from her life until recently.
She finally pulled up in front of Encom Tower. It was a building she had never been terribly fond of, however, after returning after years away, it was like pouring salt into wounds. With a steadying sigh, Allie pushed herself from the cab and paid the driver. She had already dropped her bags at her childhood home and hadn't found her father there. Of course, he would be at the office.
Escaping the California heat, Allison made her way through the lobby of Encom Tower. It was almost like she was a kid again. She could almost see herself being chased by Sam around the pillars, much to the dismay of the businessmen that passed through it daily. She and Sam had been practically inseparable when they had been young and Encom Tower had been their kingdom. With a slight grin and shake of her head, Allie passed into the elevator and made her way up to her father's office.
The elevator stopped on the right floor and Allison stepped out, looking around brightly. "Oh! Good evening, Miss Bradley!" Alan's secretary of twenty years greeted with a bright smile. She began to gush about Allison growing up too quickly and in dire need of a few extra meals. "You're dad's on a call, but go on in!" Allison nodded, offering the woman a broad grin. "Thanks!" She said, pushing through the doors into her dad's office. Smiling, she waited for him to notice her.

Alan leaned forward in his chair, staring at the surface of his desk as he listened to the sound of one of the board members on the other side. He could feel his own brain starting to drip out of his ears as he listened to the man complain about the site for the Grid entry. Flynn's Arcade? A place where a mass amount of people couldn't enter. The space was too limited. Blah..Blah..Blah. Alan rubbed the bridge of his nose as he let his eyes slid closed. He didn't care anymore. He just wanted to go home. He yawned silently before he pressed the phone closer to his ear as he decided he was going to end the conversation at this.
"Look, Lloyd, I understand where you're coming from but this was Mr. Flynn's decision, and that's that. This is his project, his call. Stop worrying about your damn profit margins and just leave it be. Good night, Lloyd."
The older man said before hitting the phone's end call button and tossed the phone to the desk with a clank. He then slowly lifted his gaze to see a slender figure in his doorway. The smile wasn't contained as Alan rose to his feet and opened his arms out wide to the young woman before him. "Allie Cat." He greeted with love and devotion in his tone as he made the short trip over to his daughter and wrapped her up in tight hug. It had been a while since he had been around his daughter, and he happy to see her again. He groaned gently, rubbing her back before pushing her back so he could get a better look at her. "So grown up now, where the hell have I been?" He joked gently before kissing the top of her head. He was just glad to be around someone he wanted to see for a change. (sorry its so short, it'll get better)[/blockquote][/blockquote]
